Celebrating Our 12th Annual Golf Outing
About the Event

A tradition of golf, community, and giving.

Twelve years of bringing leaders together to fight cancer — one round at a time.

For more than a decade, Houser Engineering has hosted an event we hold close to our hearts. What began as a small gathering of friends and clients has grown into one of New Jersey's most respected corporate charity golf outings — uniting business leaders, families, and supporters behind a single, urgent mission: a future free from cancer.

Every dollar raised through registrations, sponsorships, raffles, and donations goes directly to the American Cancer Society — funding lifesaving research, patient transportation, lodging for treatment, advocacy, and the compassionate community programs that change lives every day.

Sara Lynn Montrey
Sara Lynn Montrey
December 13, 1976 — December 6, 2012

Sara Lynn Montrey, the daughter of Barbara Gardner and Gerry Gardner, was raised in New Jersey, attended Lakeland High School in Wanaque and received a degree in Information Studies from Syracuse University. Prior to moving to Sammamish, Washington Sara lived in Manhattan and survived the attack on the World Trade Center in 2001 by running from the site to her office near Madison Square Garden.

With only 6 months of treatment after her diagnosis, Sara succumbed to colon cancer in December of 2012. The Colon Cancer Alliance provided a support system as well as the main source of information after her medical team.

She had traveled extensively including stays in India, Australia, Africa and Europe as well as much of the United States. A member of the crew team at Syracuse and a respected leader in several technical management efforts at Yahoo, WebMD and Conde Nast Portfolio, Sara ended her career with Lionfish Creative, a Seattle based advertising and branding firm. She famously spent many hours volunteering at local charities in both New York and Seattle.

In her always independent way, Sara arranged her last resting place with her husband, Jody, and brothers Alex and Greg, delivering her ashes to the coast of Cape Town South Africa. A unique, beautiful and vivacious woman this event is dedicated by Houser Engineering to her memory.
